It's not free, but here: http://www.fightpp.org you can get a list that tells you which companies you should boycott because of their support of immoral causes. They do give a sampling on the homepage which includes companies such as eBay and PayPal, and Outback Steakhouse (and other affiliated restaurants), Sonic, Marriott (and related hotels), Comcast, etc. Take a look.

I was also informed that Microsoft, Adobe, and Starbucks were on the list as well but that Apple was not [thankfully!].

Planned Parenthood is planning to open a 22,000 sq foot clinic in Aurora, IL on Sept. 18th. There is a forty day prayer vigil and a growing national effort within pro-life organizations to keep this clinic from opening. Residents were unaware that the clinic was being built until the project was almost completed because Planned Parenthood deceptively built it under the name "Gemini Medical Office" to hide the true nature of the facility from the public. Worse yet, the massive clinic is located near a local high school. Please offer prayers, sacrifices, and holy hours for this effort to keep the clinic from opening. Only through God's grace and our Lady's powerful intercession can Planned Parenthood be stopped from opening this abortion mill.

Mac News Pro - Apple announces financial results

Apple the other day on 25 July, held their quarterly conference call highlighting their third quarter financial results. All three "legs of the chair" (Mac, iPod, and iPhone) seem to be doing extremely well with 1,764,000 Macintosh® computers shipped, 9,815,000 iPods sold, and the one-millionth iPhone expected to be shipped by the end of its first quarter. Overall, the Company posted revenue of $5.41 billion and net quarterly profit of $818 million, or 92¢ per diluted share.

Mac News Pro - FileMaker Pro 9 released

FileMaker, Inc., a subsidiary of Apple Inc., has released version 9 of its award-winning database software for both Mac and Windows. The first thing you'll notice is the new FileMaker Quick Start Screen which gives options for opening an existing database, make a new one, or learn more about using FileMaker Pro 9. Other new features include visual formatting for objects and fields based on user defined parameters. FileMaker connects to SQL Servers, Oracle and mySQL databases. FileMaker can store virtually any file kind.

Boeing 787 Premieres

On 7-8-07, The Boeing Company formally unveiled its first all-new airplane since the 777 in 1995: the 787 Dreamliner. It was rolled out during a ceremony held at Boeing's Everett final assembly facility with about 15,000 attendees. Over 30,000 more participated internationally via two-way satellite. The event potentially reached 100,000,000 or more people total.

The 787 will be significantly more efficient than other planes of the same class by requiring 20 percent less fuel per passenger. Airlines have the option of either Rolls Royce or Genereal Electric powerplants which will not produce as many carbon emissions and will very quiet. The airplane is mostly made of composites instead of aluminum which corrodes more easily. Already, 45 customers have ordered 634 airplanes valued at over $98 billion. This is the most successful commercial airplane launch in history. The 787 Dreamliner is scheduled to make its first flight next month, and to enter service in May 2008. In competition to the 787, Airbus has announced their A350 which is scheduled to enter service in 2013.

iPhone Launch a Success

So we (Robert Christopher, Daniel Malneritch, and Daniel Sellers) of Holocron Pro and Imaginate Pro went up to the Apple Store Lenox Square, Georgia, and anxiously awaited the release of the iPhone. While we were there, we interviewed (on camera) different people in line and already through the line on the whole thing. Overall, it was a fun trip and an interesting experience. Apple would not allow video actually in the store, but still photography was allowed, so we will be posting those shots online. We have already gotten one of our videos online available here. More are coming. We also recorded and audio Friday Cast on the car ride back from the store, which will be available soon as well.

So we got to play with iPhones for a while in the Apple Store. The experience is just like anything Apple. The iPhone is just something else: the hardware is very sleek and elegant, and the user experience on the software side is just as incredible. We had access to all of the features, and we even made phone calls. We talked to and read about people having trouble activating their iPhones due to AT&T being slammed by people activating their iPhones all over the place. But they are activating, just slowly.

iPhone uses AT&T's 2.5G (Edge) network. Apple chose this over 3G because with Edge, they could make the phone lighter, thinner, and it can probably get better battery life also.

We've been having some technical difficulties with our blog lately, but we're optimistic about working things out soon. We are also working with a very small staff.
